The European China Law Studies Association e.V. (ECLS) was registered on 10 January 2007 at the District Court of Hamburg as a non-profit association under German law. The purpose of the Association is the promotion of science and research, in particular the ideational and material promotion of legal China studies in Europe. ECLS organizes and supports events, which serve the exchange of academic insights and practical experiences as well as legal co-operation between Europe and China.
